Last Friday September 6th and Saturday September 7th the Men's Water Polo team traveled to the Cypress College Tournament to compete in four games, coming away with two wins to improve their overall season record to 7-2.
The Owls started their four-game slate against the hosting Cypress College Chargers. Citrus played tough but could not keep their undefeated season alive as they fell 18-10. Trace Faskell stood out in the loss by scoring five goals while Killian Pressley recorded four assists.
Game two saw the Owls earn a dominant 27-9 win over Santa Monica to end the day 1-1. The Owls put together an impressive performance, scoring over five goals in each quarter with five players scoring multiple goals. Led by Killian Pressley and Liam Ross who each scored six goals the Owls also got help from Adam Herald, Trace Faskell and Adeeb Lakkees all who scored three goals. Goalie Brian Delama recorded six assists and eight saves.
On Saturday Citrus College started their day with a 21-7 win over Southwestern Community College. The Owls went up 7-1 in the first quarter which was too much to overcome for the Jaguars who were held to seven goals for the game. The Owls had a well-rounded performance as eight players recorded multiple goals, led by Trace Faskell and Killian Pressley who each had four goals.
The final game of the Cypress College Tournament came against El Camino in a close that the Owls lost 20-16. In a back-and-forth game Citrus College got six goals from Killian Pressley, four goals from Trace Faskell while Adeeb Lakkees recorded four assists.
The Owls will be back in action and look to improve their already impressive 7-2 record as they host Cal Tech on Tuesday, September 17th at 3:00 p.m.
