Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team got back into the groove of things on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls stopped a two game losing streak and six losses in its last seven games with a convincing 11-0 win in six innings at Glendale College.

Citrus got things rolling in the top half of the second inning, using a triple from freshman Andrea "Cookie" Perez and a sacrifice fly from sophomore Jessica Gonzalez to take an early 2-0 lead. The Owls then added three more runs in the top of the fourth when freshman Sara Moore swatted a three run home run her third of the year.

In the top of the sixth, Citrus put the game away for good thanks to three errors from the Vaqueros. Moore along with sophomore Veronica Ramirez and freshman Victoria Baltazar all drove in runs to help put the Owls at 11 runs.

With the offense finally finding its groove, freshman Arianna Sanchez did more than her part in the circle. Sanchez pitched all six innings, surrendering four hits and no runs, while striking out five. It was her first complete game shutout of the year.

With the win, Citrus improves to 11-9 overall and 5-3 in WSC Blue Division play. Citrus will be right back at things again on Thursday when they host Bakersfield College in a double header. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
