El Cajon, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team's 2013 road blues continued on Monday afternoon when they headed South to take on Grossmont College. The Owls are just 2-6 in their last eight road games, including their game on Monday, as Citrus was held to two hits and shutout for the first time all year long, in a 4-0 loss to the Griffins.

The Owls were held in check from the get go, as they didn't even put a runner on the base paths until the top of the third inning, when sophomore Shyann Ramirez singled to lead off the inning. Ramirez would make her way all the way to third, before being stranded just 60 feet away from home plate.

Meanwhile, Grossmont was taking advantage of it's opportunities. The Griffins used a pair of RBI singles and some passed balls to plate a couple of runs in the bottom of the third. Grossmont kept it going in the next inning too when they got another RBI single and a Citrus miscue in the field to add two more scores to make it 4-0.

Citrus' offense never was able to find it's rhythm and limped through the next four innings. Freshman Kawehi Ephan singled to center field in the top of the fourth, but never was able to put a runner push a runner past first base for the remainder of the contest.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 14-10 on the year. The Owls will try and rebound from Monday's set back tomorrow afternoon when they travel to Santa Monica for a WSC Blue Division meeting. First pitch is set for 3:00 PM.
