Throughout the 2013 CCCAA post-season, Citrus College sophomore Katherine Cunningham will be blogging for CitrusOwls.com. Today's installment is the second installment of the blog.

Our effort and our attitude have truly been demonstrated throughout practice this week. The coaches have made the practices more intense and strenuous. I believe this is because it is going to be extremely warm this coming weekend and, as good coaches, they are preparing us for all the factors that will come our way.

We have worked on a lot of fundamentals in regards to fielding. We've taken lots of fly balls, ground balls, and worked on double plays, etc. As far as hitting goes, we have taken our hacks. Towards the end of season, we started having our pitchers throw live to us every day at practice. We truly benefited from seeing live pitching everyday so I think we will have a practice like that before the end of the week. All around are practices are solid and we are perfecting our skills for Saturday.

This week everyone seems to have more of an edge. We are determined and focused. We have the big picture in our minds and we are going after it. As I said before we are continuing to do what it takes. There is a whole different atmosphere anytime we go into Playoffs because we know how three short games (1st round) can make all the difference and we are prepared for that.
