Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team knew when it hit the road on Thursday afternoon for another WSC Blue tilt, that they would get the best effort possible from their opponent in Glendale College. The Owls took the Vaqueros' best punch, overcame four errors, and pulled out to a 3-1 win.

Scoring was at a premium through the first four innings. The first score of the game wouldn't come until freshman Jessica Brown hit an RBI single to bring in sophomore Erinn Jaramillo and make it 1-0. Freshman Kaitlyn Garza brought in the games next run with a triple in the top of the fifth, just before Jaramillo plated her to make it 3-0.

In the circle, freshman Anissa Gallegos was doing more than her part, surrendering just four total hits in a complete game effort and not allowing a single walk. Still the Vaqueros put runners on the base paths thanks to those four errors in the field by the Owls. Glendale got one run off Gallegos getting a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth, but that would be all as she slammed the door the final two innings, fanning a total of five batters on the day.

With the win, Citrus improves to 16-6 overall and 6-1 in WSC Blue play. The Owls will be back at home on Friday when they host East Los Angeles College in a non-conference contest.
