Softball played host to WSC East conference rival LA Mission College on Tuesday. The Owls lost the contest 1-2 after a 7th inning rally by Citrus was cut short by the Eagles.

The Owls struggle to ignite at the plate, going hitless until the bottom of the 5th, but those runners would be left stranded after Eagle pitching buckled down and forced the Owls into a double play to end the inning. The bottom of the 6th would see the same fate, as the Owls again left 2 runners stranded, grounding out to end the inning. In the bottom of the 7th, catcher Brooke Fuss smacked a solo homer to left center to ignite the comeback effort. But Citrus failed to convert, hitting into a double play to end the game.

The Owls slip to 3-11 overall with the loss, and are 1-2 in conference play. Citrus takes the field next on Thursday as they travel to Antelope Valley for a WSC East conference matchup. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
