Softball Squad Mercy Rules Victor Valley

Citrus Softball hosted Barstow College on Tuesday for a Western State Conference East matchup. The Owls mercy ruled the Vikings 9-1 after 6 innings, improving to 10-12 overall, 3-3 in conference and wining the last 4 straight and last 7 of 8 games. 

Danielle Dominguez got the start in the circle for the Owls, pitching 4 innings, allowing just one hit and one run, and striking out 2. Dominguez picks up the win, improving her record to 3-5 after a tough start to the season in that category. Becky Winder pitched the last 2 innings, allowing one hit and no runs. 

Winder also went off at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double, 2 RBI's, 3 runs scored and a pair of stolen bases. Katie Kempton recorded a pair of hits including a double, drove in a run and scored twice. Emily Paredez notched a couple of base hits, both scoring and driving in a run. 

The Owls scored in every inning against the Vikings, leaving just 4 runners on base in the game. 

Citrus takes the field next on Thursday on the road in Glendale for a conference battle. Game time is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
