Citrus College battled but couldn't hold on in a 5-0 loss to Long Beach City College Tuesday afternoon.
The Owls slip to 2-1 on the year, while the Vikings improve to 2-0 overall.
Both teams held the other in check until Long Beach broke through with five runs in the bottom of the sixth, which proved to be too much for Citrus to overcome.
The Owls had four hits in the game with three of them coming from Samantha Meyndert (3-for-3). Kylie Ruiz also had a hit for the visitors.
Citrus looks to shake it off quickly, hosting Chaffey College on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
