Citrus College picked up its third-straight win with a 7-1 victory over Saddleback College Monday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 9-4 on the year, while the Bobcats slip to 3-5 overall with the result.

Seven Owls had hits in the game with Madelyn Hajj (2-for-3) and Caitlin Kelley (2-for-3) leading the way.

Kelley tossed four strikeouts to grab her third win in the circle for Citrus.

It started slow as neither team could get on the board in the first two innings of action, but Saddleback broke through in the top of the third to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Owls answered back with three runs in the bottom half of the inning off an RBI single from Kylie Ruiz before Hajj drilled a two-RBI double to right field.

Citrus seemed to have found its rhythm and put three more runs on in the fourth after Bailey Aguilar tripled to send Desiree Loza home and two Bobcat errors scored two more runs.

Hajj put the final dagger in with a solo shot to left center in the bottom of the fifth before Ruiz secured the 7-1 victory for the Owls with a diving line drive double play in the bottom of the seventh.

Citrus looks to keep building momentum as it heads to Chaffey College on Wednesday for a 2:30 p.m. contest.
