Citrus College held on for a 7-6 victory over LA Harbor College on Monday.

The Owls improve to 11-5 on the year, while the Seahawks drop to 5-9 overall.

Leah Morales continued her hot streak at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored, while Desiree Loza followed with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Rylee Praytor, Madelyn Hajj, Samantha Meyndert, Caitlin Kelley, Jasani Zavalza, and Kylie Ruiz also had hits for the Owls.

Kelley grabbed her fourth win of the year with five strikeouts, scattering six hits and just three earned runs.

Hajj set the tone in the first inning with a two-run home run to put Citrus up early.

LA Harbor scored three runs in the top of the second to take the lead briefly, but the Owls responded with two of their own in the bottom half of the frame off a Morales double.

Once again, the visitors took the lead, but Zavalza tied things up in the fourth before a costly Seahawk error scored two more Citrus runs.

LA Harbor tried to rally in the seventh, loading the bases and pulling within one but Meyndert locked down the win after by grabbing a fly ball.

The Owls have one more nonconference tune-up before Western State Conference action starts, hosting East LA on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.
