Citrus College Softball hosted Glendale College today, getting a 10-2 win through five innings after rain moved the game time up by two hours.

Citrus College improves to 7-12 overall on the season and 2-0 in conference, while Glendale College moves to 7-9 overall and 0-1 in conference.

The rainy weather did not cool down the Owls' bats today as they put up 10 runs, while scoring three runs in each of the first, second and fourth innings.

Madelyn Hajj drove in Alivia Martinez with a single in the bottom of the first inning and two batters later Rylee Praytor crushed a ground-rule double to bring home two more runs, giving the Owls a 3-0 lead.

Citrus added three runs in the bottom of the second inning as Tatyanna Camos scored on a Glendale error and both Alivia Martinez and Jaelynn Eaves recorded an RBI to make the score 6-0.

The Vaqueros scored two runs in the third inning, but Jaelynn Eaves responded with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the fourth inning to give the Owls an 8-2 lead. Eliana Lopez hit a single to score Madelyn Hajj in the bottom of the fourth inning as Citrus went up 9-2.

Jaelynn Eaves hit a single to score Alivia Martinez, her fourth RBI of the game and 15th RBI of the season to end the game in the bottom of the fifth inning as Citrus secured the 10-2 mercy rule win.

The Owls recorded 11 hits through five innings, led by Madelyn Hajj, Jaelynn Eaves, Eliana Lopez, and Camila Abundis, who all went 2-for-3. Rylee Praytor went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, Alivia Martinez went 1-for-4 with two runs scored, two stolen bases and one RBI. Sofia Femath drew two walks, scored two runs, and stole one base.
