Owls Finish Weekend 3-0

Pasadena, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball team wrapped up their opening weekend tournament play with a 55-45 win over SoCal #15 Irvine Valley College. Sophomore Ella Rodriguez scored a team high 18 points and reeled in 8 rebounds, on her way to All-Tournament honors. 

Sophomore point guard Sarah Rebibo gave the Owls a big boost off the bench scoring a season high 13 points to go along with 5 boards, 4 steals, and an assist. Freshman Olivia Montgomery chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.

With the win, Citrus improves to 3-0 on the year. It's the first 3-0 start for the Owls since the opening of the 2007-2008 season. The Owls wrapped up the weekend tournament as one of only two teams to go 3-0. Citrus also knocked off two ranked opponents in their three games. 

Citrus will be off the next two weeks, and resume their 2012-2013 play on the weekend of November 30th - December 2nd, when the Owls take part in the Chaffey College Tournament. The Owls will open up the tournament with the tourney's host Chaffey College, ranked #9 in the pre-season State Poll. Tip-off for the game is set for 7:00 PM on Friday November 30th.
