Santa Maria, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball team, ranked #10 in Southern California, got back on track on Saturday afternoon with a big win at Allan Hancock College. After dropping back to back contests in the final two days of the Grossmont Tournament last weekend, Citrus rallied with a 63-37 win against the Bulldogs.

Citrus stumbled out of the gate and trailed the Bulldogs for majority of the first ten minutes of the half. A three from sophomore Ariana Caffey would tie the game up at 10-10 with just under ten minutes to go, and then a layup from freshman Fran Laza gave the Owls a proper 12-11 lead. That three from Caffey would kickstart a 17-3 run for the Owls that ended up with Citrus leading 24-13 at the half.

In the second half, Citrus kept their foot on the gas keeping their lead at a comfortable double digits throughout. Allan Hancock never got closer than ten, and Citrus pushed their lead to 20 plus after a layup from Natalie Lam gave the Owls a 54-34 advantage with 4:17 to go.

In the win, Citrus would be led by sophomore Sarah Rebibo who scored a season and game high 19 points. Freshman Fran Laza came off the bench to score a season high 10 points, while sophomore Nicole Zugasti added nine points and a game high seven rebounds.

With the win, Citrus improves to 11-5 on the year. The Owls will open up Western State Conference South Division play next when they host Glendale College on Wednesday evening. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
