Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball team claimed the rubber match between themselves and Glendale College on Saturday night. After defeating the Vaqueros in tournament play back in December, the Owls lost at home at the start of conference play to Glendale, only to take the third meeting on Saturday night 50-44 at Glendale College.

The Owls jumped all over the Vaqueros early, pulling away with a 21-5 run started off when freshman Natlie Lam converted a conventional three point play and capped off by a layup from sophomore Arianna Caffey that made it 25-9 with 8:29 to go in the first half. Glendale would close the gap, by ending the half on a 9-0 run, but the Owls still went into halftime leading 25-18.

In the second half, Glendale opened the final frame with a 8-0 run that led to the Vaqueros taking their first lead of the game 26-25 with 16:07 on the clock. That's when sophomore Sarah Rebibo began to take over. Rebibo scored 14 of her game high 22 points in the second half, including a six of eight points for Citrus that culminated in a big trey giving Citrus a 33-29 lead with 11:15 to go. After that, Citrus never relinquished the lead.

Freshman Jaelyn Wilson notched her second straight double-double in the win, scoring 10 points and grabbing a game high 11 rebounds. Sophomore Nicole Zugasti fell a point and rebound shy of the same feat with 9 points and 9 boards.

With the win, Citrus improves to 14-9 on the year and 3-4 in WSC South play. The Owls will get a tough test on Wednesday as they take their three game winning streak up against College of the Canyons. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM.
