Glendora, CA -- Citrus College Sophomore Arianna Caffey became the third Owl to sign a scholarship offer this past week, when she signed on with NCAA DII Henderson State University in Arkansas.

"I had a great visit out there [Henderson State]. They have a good tradition, and a strong community surrounding it," Caffey said. "It's a beautiful campus that's close to a lot of cool places. It's has a strong program for my major and its going to be a good fit for me on the court and off."

Caffey came to Citrus during the 2012-2013 season after playing one year at California State University, Dominguez Hills during the 2011-2012 season. As a sophomore at Citrus, Caffey appeared in 27 games for the Owls, averaging 3.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game.

"Citrus has given me the chance to get back to focus on my schoolwork. There are lots of great advisors and professors on campus, and they've helped me get back on track academically," Caffey said. "Coach Tam opened up this opportunity for me. She's the reason why I came to Citrus, and this is the icing on the cake for my experience here. I owe it all to her."

"Arianna was our defensive stopper in big games, and she was an emotional leader for us. Her toughness helped this team grow in many areas," Citrus College Head Women's Basketball Coach Tamara McDonald said. "She is one of the last traditional point guards who puts her teammates before herself, and I know she will be a great addition to Henderson State."
