Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball program stopped a three game slide on Saturday evening with a 65-38 win at West Los Angeles College. The Owls grabbed 41 total rebounds, recorded 18 total assists, and committed just 12 turnovers in the win.
The Owls keyed their way to the win with their fast start in the first half. Citrus outscored the Wildcats 30-13 in the first 20 minutes before outscoring them again by 10 in the second half. Sophomore Olivia Montgomery led the way in the victory scoring a game high 17 points, grabbing six rebounds, and all the while handing out seven assists. Sophomore Jaelyn Wilson added 12 points, eight boards, and four blocks, while freshman Vanessa Garcia had 12 off the bench for Citrus.
With the win, Citrus improves to 12-8 overall and 3-3 in WSC South play. The Owls will take Wednesday off before returning to WSC South action on Saturday at Santa Monica College 3:00 PM.
