Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Olivia Montgomery had the game of her life late Saturday afternoon, when the Women's Basketball team played host to Bakersfield College. Montgomery made it the O Show, with a career high in points and rebounds in the Owls' 60-49 win over the Renegades.

Montgomery got the Owls going early scoring, 7 of Citrus' first 12 points, and helping Citrus to an early 12-9 lead. The Owls led for most of the first half, but Bakersfield came back late in the half and grabbed a 29-26 lead with just over three minutes to go. The Owls clamped down on the defensive end, and got a layup from sophomore Jaelyn Wilson and a jumper from freshman Jessica Samson to take back the lead and head into the break up 30-29.

In the second half it was all Montgomery and Citrus. The Owls opened up the half on a 10-2 run and never looked back. Montgomery kept it going strong too. Over the final 10 minutes, Montgomery was responsible for all but four of Citrus' points, including a particular stretch in which she scoring nine straight, outscoring the Renegades in that span by one.

In the end Montgomery finished with 28 points and 18 rebounds. Freshman Jessica Samson was the only other Owl in double figures scoring 13 points off the bench for Citrus.

With the win, Citrus improves to 14-9 overall and 5-4 in WSC South play. The Owls will try and keep it going on Wednesday when they travel to Antelope Valley for a 5:00 PM tip.
