Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball program is pleased to announce that three of its sophomores have accepted scholarship offers from four-year universities. Olivia Montgomery, Jaelyn Wilson, and Jasmin Longtin will all be suiting up for universities next year.

Montgomery has signed a scholarship offer with the University of California, Irvine. Montgomery was a 1st team All-WSC South Selection this past year. Montgomery didn't make her season debut until the conference schedule began, averaging 14.7 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. Montgomery's highlight came against Bakersfield, when Montgomery scored a career high 28 and grabbed a career high 18 rebounds.

"The coaching staff at UCI was what I've been looking for in a university setting. I need to be happy where I am at for the next two years of my life, and Irvine feels like the best fit," Montgomery said. "Coach Tam[ara McDonald] has prepared me mentally and physically for the next level. She's stayed on top of us this whole time. She has always pushed us to leave it all on the floor no matter what kind of day I'm having. Every time I walked onto the gym floor, I always felt the love from my coaches and teammates, and I knew that I could leave everything else behind me."

"It has been a pleasure to coach such a great talent like Olivia over the past two seasons. She is just now tapping into her versatility as a player, I know she will do a great job for the UCI program," McDonald said. "We can't thank her and her family enough for their support to this program."

Wilson meanwhile will attend and play for the University of California, Riverside. Wilson had a breakout sophomore campaign in 2013-2014. Wilson averaged 15.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, and 1.1 steals a game. Wilson recorded 13 double-doubles on the year and posted a career high 30 points against Antelope Valley midway through the season.

"The atmosphere at UCR was great. The coaches and team felt like a right fit. I like to that it's a good academic school, and that helped make my decision that much easier. I also like that it's close to home," Wilson said. "Citrus has helped me to develop as an athlete and as a person. Coach Tam has played a big role in all of that. She's helped change my mindset on the floor, and to become a more aggressive player. My teammates always brought great energy. It makes it easier to play when you're surrounded by a group of individuals who want to compete together."

"Having watched Jaelyn develop into one of the best players in the State in terms of rebounding and scoring, I know she will add some depth to the UCR team," Coach McDonald said. "Coach John [Margaritis] and his staff have done a fabulous job with the program, and I'm happy Jaelyn gets to have the Division I experience."

Rounding out the signings is Longtin who will suit up for Biola University. Longtin was a key contributor for Citrus over the last two seasons, providing energy and rebounding for the Owls. As a sophomore Longtin averaged six points and six boards a game.

"I chose Biola because it was important for me to have a private Christian education, while getting a chance to pursue my athletic career," Longtin said. "Citrus provided me with the resources on and off the court to be able to grow as a person and a basketball player. Coach Tam developed my game from a beginner, and made me into a strong player."

"Biola University is a great fit for Jasmin both athletically and spiritually," McDonald said. "She has been one of the hardest working kids in this program and I'm glad to see the work payoff for her and her family."
