Glendale, CA — The Citrus College Women's Basketball team had their host on Wednesday night in their sets in the closing minutes of their contest with Glendale College. The Owls couldn't close it out though, and ended up falling 60-53.

The Owls didn't get off to a great start on the night as Glendale rushed out to an early 10-2 lead. Citrus stayed the course though and worked their way back into the game, tying the contest up at 28-28 in the closing seconds of the first half thanks to a trey by sophomore Vanessa Garcia.

In the second half, the two teams traded the lead back and forth. Citrus took an early five point advantage, only to watch Glendale reclaim it midway through. The Owls' last lead of the contest would come when freshman Janae Chamois jumper made it 51-50. After that though, Citrus went scoreless from the field and only got two free-throws down the stretch as they lost by seven.

Chamois would finish with a team high 21 points and six rebounds on the night. Sophomore Tyvette White added 10. With the loss, the Owls fall to 10-12 on the season and 3-6 in WSC South play. Citrus will travel up the 5 Freeway to the 99 this coming Saturday as they take on Bakersfield College at 5:00 PM
