Culver City, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Basketball team committed a season high 34 turnovers on Wednesday evening at West LA College. The Owls had built up a five point halftime lead, but 17 turnovers combined with the Wildcats shooting 46.7% from the floor in the second half led to a 50-61 loss for Citrus.

Citrus built up the early first half lead thanks in large part to holding West LA to just 30% shooting from the floor and 0 of 9 from 3-point range. The Owls also pounded the glass in the first half, outrebounding the Wildcats 29-12. That all changed in the second half, as West LA grew more efficient from the floor and went for easy two's instead of settling for contested three's. That and the two teams were even in the rebounding wars, as each hauled in 19 in the second half.

Freshman Janae Chamois led all Citrus scorers with 16 points. Sophomore Vanessa Garcia added 11, while sophomore Bobbie Johnson scored seven points and grabbed a game high 14 rebounds.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 11-15 overall and 4-9 in WSC South play. Citrus will close out their 2014-2015 season this Saturday at College of the Canyons. Tip-off is s set for 5:00 PM.
