Glendora, CA – After suffering a pair of close and tough back to back losses, the Citrus College Women's Basketball team rallied on Saturday night with a runaway victory against visiting Glendale College. The Owls had their second highest offensive output of the night and had five players finish in double-digits in a 92-47 victory.

Glendale would do their best to keep things close early in the fourth quarter, trailing the Owls by just three 11-8 with 4:28 to go. That's when Citrus really started cooking, rattling off a 15-2 run, started thanks to a three pointer from freshman Joy Adlao and ended when sophomore Tiffany Villaruz's jumper made it 26-10 with 1:47 to go. The Vaqueros would try to work their way back in it, getting it down to 11 before the end of the first quarter, but a layup by freshman Marisa Brown with 12 seconds left pushed it back to 13 at 28-15, and the Owls never led by anything less.

In the win, Citrus would hold the Vaqueros to 24.2% shooting from the floor and into 21 turnovers. The Owls shot 45.1% from the floor, 37.9% from three and 73.9% from the charity stripe, while out-rebounding the Vaqueros by 23.

Sophomores Janae Chamois, Natalie Gutierrez, and Villaruz led all Owls with 13 points apiece. Adlao would add 11, while freshman Jessica Rosas had a breakout game, with 10 points in a season high 13 minutes worth of action. Sophomore Gabriella Ixtepan would led all rebounders with 11 boards, including four of the offensive variety. Villaruz meanwhile wrapped up one of her best all-around games in her two-year Citrus career, grabbing six rebounds and handing out nine assists.

With the win, Citrus improves to 11-8 overall and 4-2 in WSC South play. The Owls will close out the first half of conference play on Wednesday when they host West Los Angeles College at 5:00 PM.
