Glendale, CA – The Citrus College Women's Basketball team tried to rally from an 11 point first quarter deficit early Saturday evening, but came up just short at Glendale College. The Owls pulled two within two at the end of the third quarter, but couldn't pull it out in the fourth in Citrus' 44-52 loss.

Citrus got off to a rough start, going 2 for 11 from the floor in the opening tome. Trailing 16-4 after just the first quarter of action, the Owls began to turn things around in the second quarter with a 13-8 effort including a 4 of 6 effort from the field. With their deficit down to a manageable six points at the break, Citrus kept applying pressure in the third with a 12-8 third that made it 30-32 headed into the final frame.

In the fourth quarter, Glendale rallied with seven of the first eight points and Citrus never really regained any traction. In the loss, Citrus was paced by 28 points off the bench for sophomore Marisa Brown. No other Owl finished in double figures. With the loss, Citrus dropped to 5-14 overall and 1-2 in WSC East play. The Owls will be on the road again on Wednesday when they travel to Antelope Valley College.
