Glendora, CA - Sophomore forward Marisa Brown has signed a scholarship offer with NAIA member Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. Brown was a 1st team All-Western State Conference East Division honoree in 2016-2017.

"I had a feeling about Grace. It just felt right," Brown said. "When I was talking with the coach and the players, I felt an instant connection. It's a family place and that's extremely important to me."

Brown will leave Citrus as one of the best posts in program history. Her 44.1% career field goal percentage is 4th best in program history. This season alone her 16.0 ppg (6th all-time) and 10.2 rpg (2nd all-time) are up there in the Owl record books. She is also just the second player in recent Citrus history to average a double-double for a single season.

"Citrus has a played huge role. I cannot thank my coaches enough for what they have done for me. The same goes for all of my teammates," Brown said. "I've learned a lot about patience and self-control here. I've really regained my passion for basketball, and it's helped me become a better overall woman."

In her sophomore campaign, Brown pulled down a season high 18 rebounds in an eight-point loss to College of the Canyons in the early goings of the season at the Mt. SAC Tournament. That was tied for the second most rebounds by an Owl in a single game, and the most by an individual since the 2014 season. In that same game, Brown also scored a career high 28 points, a total she would match during WSC East play in a late season set back at Glendale College.

"Marisa has blossomed into a phenomenal young lady these past two seasons. I have been fortunate to see her grow not only on the court, but off the court," said Citrus College Head Women's Basketball Coach Linnae Barber. "She is a fierce competitor that takes nothing for granted. Grace University definitely signed a student-athlete that will bring energy, leadership, and strength. I am looking forward to Marisa making an immediate impact at Grace University."
