Lady Owls Prey on Antelope Valley in Redemption Win

The Citrus Women's Basketball team, after going just 7-19 last year, has turned things around in a big way in 2017-18, improving to 14-13 yesterday with a redemption win over host Antelope Valley. Citrus had dropped the first round matchup with the Marauders 48-57, after struggling to bring their A-game in all 4 quarters. Yesterday's matchup however, ended in Citrus' favor as the Owls topped the home team 52-44.

Floor General Jezteni Espinoza, who has put up impressively consistent numbers all season, met her season point average with 13 and dropped her usual 3 three pointers to lead the Owls. Also putting up their usual consistent stat line were Mariah Sierra who led the Owls in rebounding with 8; Kyannie Brown with 12 points and 6 rebounds; and Marisol Chavez-Delgado who chipped in a cool 13 points and 4 rebounds.

Citrus improves to 14-13 on the season overall, with a 4-5 conference clip. The Owls close out conference play on Saturday as they play host to Barstow, where they have a chance to go well over .500 on the year, and improve to .500 in conference play. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00 PM in the Citrus Gymnasium.
