Mounties Trip Up Owls

Coming off a hot shooting night, Citrus College looked to carry that momentum into the second day of the Mt. San Antonio Tip-Off Challenge but couldn't find its rhythm from the floor, falling 67-38 to the host Mounties.

The Owls drop to 1-1 on the young year while the Mounties remain unbeaten at 2-0.

Katherine Goostrey led Citrus with 19 points, while Giselle Garcia-Nunez posted her second double-double of the year with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

As a team, the Owls were held to a 15.5 field goal percentage but were perfect at the line (19-for-19).

After scoring a third of its points off turnovers the night before, turnovers plagued Citrus Saturday as the Mounties grabbed 30 points off 23 turnovers.

Citrus will play for third place in the tournament on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
