Citrus College capped the Lady Charger Classic with a 54-44 victory over host Cypress College and saw two Owls named to the All-Tournament Team Sunday.
The Owls improve to 8-3 on the year, while the Chargers slip to 4-6.
Scoring was pretty balanced across the board for the Owls' starting five with Katherine Goostrey leading the charge with a double-double, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Felicity Mendoza and Tiffany Hall followed with nine points each, Julie Garcia Man and Giselle Garcia-Nunez also contributed eight points apiece.
Citrus found itself trailing 30-24 at halftime but turned things around in the third quarter. The Owls outscored the Chargers 17-to-7 in the third, opening the frame on a 6-0 run to tie the game at 30-30.
Cypress took back the lead briefly, but Man tied the game up at 37-37, sparking an 11-0 run to put Citrus in control three minutes into the fourth, 46-37.
The Chargers called a timeout, but the Owls held on for the 54-44 victory.
Following the tournament, Goostrey and Mendoza were named to the All-Tournament Team.
Citrus heads to the Grossmont Tournament next weekend, Saturday through Monday.
