Citrus College got its first win of the season with a dominant 83-53 victory over Barstow College Sunday morning.
The Owls shot 46.1-percent from the floor, including 45.5-percent from distance, to improve to 1-2 on the year, while the Vikings slip to 0-3.
Four Owls finished the game in double figures led by Giselle Garcia-Nunez's 20 points (9-for-15). Reanne Reola followed with 19 points, while Raeyanna Clophia adding 18 points (8-for-11). Felicity Mendoza rounded out the scorers in double digits with 11 points (5-for-11).
Citrus won the glass with Garcia-Nunez leading the charge with 10 rebounds, while Clophia chipped in nine boards.
Defensively, the Owls forced 31 turnovers while only committing 13 of their own.
The Owls scored first and never surrendered the lead, building as high as a 33-point cushion.
Citrus looks to build on the win as it heads to the El Camino Crossover Tournament next weekend, taking on host El Camino on Friday at 6 p.m.
