Citrus College battled until the very end but couldn't overcome the College of the Canyons in a 48-36 loss Saturday afternoon.
The Owls slip to 8-16 overall and 4-6 in Western State Conference-South action, while the Cougars improve to 15-9 on the year and 9-2 in conference.
Giselle Garcia-Nunez finished the game with a game-high 18 points, missing just one shot from the floor (8-for-9). She was just one board shy of a double-double, posting nine rebounds for the Owls, along with one steal and two assists.
