Citrus College battled one of the top teams in the Western State Conference-South Wednesday night but couldn't hold on in a 72-51 loss to LA Valley.
The Owls drop to 8-17 overall and 4-7 in conference, while the Monarchs improve to 18-8 on the year and 10-2 in conference.
Giselle Garcia-Nunez led the Owls with 24 points (6-for-10) and grabbed 10 rebounds for her 13th double-double of the year. Reanne Reola added 11 points and had three steals, while Felicity Mendoza grabbed seven boards.
The Owls are back at home on Saturday, hosting Glendale at 3 p.m.
