Owls Soar Past Tigers to Keep Dancing

No. 23-ranked Citrus College led from wire-to-wire in a 91-63 victory over Riverside City College to keep dancing in the 3C2A SoCal Regional.

The Owls improve to 20-9 overall with their first playoff win since 2015-16, while the Tigers finish the season at 14-15.

Jolleen Olia led the Owls with 25 points (9-for-17). Sammy Martinez grabbed her fourth double-double with 14 points (7-for-12) and 15 rebounds, while Leilani Argueta also chipped in 14 points (4-for-11). Alyssa Garcia rounded out the scorers in double figures with 12 points (4-for-9), while Kristin Morella (4-for-14) and Liz Camargo (4-for-9) each added nine points.

Morella got the ball rolling with a three-pointer in the Owls' first possession of the game, sparking a 7-0 run to start the game.

RCC tried to battle back in the second quarter, but Citrus closed out the fourth quarter shooting an impressive 62.5 percent from the perimeter to run away with the win.

The Owls look to keep dancing as they head to No. 9-ranked Mt. San Jacinto College for the second round of the 3C2A SoCal Regional, tipping off at 7 p.m.
