Owls Beat Bakersfield at Home

Citrus College Women's Basketball defeated Bakersfield College 85-46 today to earn their second conference win over the Renegades. 

Citrus College improves to 17-9 overall on the season and 8-4 in conference games, while Bakersfield College moves to 7-19 overall and 3-9 in conference. 

The Owls defense proved to be too much for the Renegades as the 27 forced turnovers led to 31 Owl points. Citrus shot 36-of-69 from the field and hit 7-of-26 three-pointers. The Owls scored eight more second chance points than the Renegades, had 16 more points in the paint, 10 more fastbreak points and 12 more bench points. 

Citrus outscored Bakersfield College in every quarter with their largest lead of 40 points coming at the midway point of the fourth quarter. 

Kristin Morella scored a career-high 32 points on 15-of-20 from the field while also having a game-high six steals with six rebounds and four assists. Jolleen Olia scored 17 points and added five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Breana Escobedo scored 11 points with six rebounds, five steals and four assists. Maileeh Suasti had 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal off the bench. Deija Mitchell contributed five points, five rebounds, four steals, three assists and one block off the bench. 

Citrus College will travel to West LA College for their final road conference game of the season, next Wednesday, February 19th at 5 p.m.
