Simi Valley, CA (Women's Golf) -- The Citrus College Women's Golf team got a strong performance from sophomore Berenice Yang Gonzalez. Yang Gonzalez posted a career low round, improving her previous best effort by 15 strokes.

The Owls would finish fifth out of the five competing teams, but had reasons to hold their head high. Freshman Kandace Delgado was the leader in the clubhouse with a 95. Sophomore Melissa Salas came in with a 106, while Yang Gonzalez was just behind her with a 107. That's her best ever score in a WSC event, and the highest team finish for Yang Gonzalez

Freshman Kristen Master also posted a season best score of 108, while freshman Marisa Piceno and sophomore Hannah Thurston wrapped up the scoring with 115 and 116 respectively.

Citrus will be back out on the links on Monday when they take part in the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College at Brookside Golf Course. Tee time is set for 11:00 AM.
