Owls Finish Second at WSC Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Golf team had their highest team finish of the year on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Bakersfield College. The Owls shot a combined 364, and finished in second place, besting Santa Barbara City College, the school who had finished second in each of the previous four conference events, by 14 strokes.

Freshmen Lexandra So and Jamie Lopez took their usual spots on top of the WSC Individual standings. So finished in a tie for first place with a 78, while Lopez finished alone in third, one stroke back with a 79.  Freshman Brittany Thelen finished with one of her best rounds of the year, carding a 99, while sophomore Katherine De La Torre recorded the final scoring round with a 108.

The Owls will try and keep momentum from this Monday headed into next Monday when they take part in the last regular season WSC Event of the year. The WSC Glendale Event is scheduled for Monday October 20th at Brookside #2 in Pasadena with tee-time set for 10:30 AM.
