Simi Valley, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Golf team found themselves back in second place at the conclusion of the final regular season match on Monday afternoon. After finishing in third place at last week's WSC Glendale Match, Citrus worked their way back into second place by posting a team score of 323 at the WSC Moorpark Match at Simi Hills Golf Course.

Sophomore Jamie Lopez led the Owls effort on the day firing a 73, good for second place individually and one stroke better than teammate and fellow sophomore Lexandra So who came in with a 74. Freshman Lexi Tunstad provided yet another quality round, firing off a 83, good for 7th individually, while freshman Mackenzy Shafer posted her second scoring round of the year for Citrus with a solid 93.

As a team, Citrus' 323 was eight strokes back of first place Santa Barbara City College and 10 strokes in front of third place College of the Canyons. The three schools will battle all the way down to the wire for the conference crown next Sunday and Monday at the 2015 Western State Conference Championships at Alisal River Golf Course in Solvang, CA. The first round is set to tee off on Sunday at 11:00 AM.
