Morro Bay, CA – Citrus College sophomore women's golfer Lexi Tunstad finished out her Citrus College career in strong fashion on Sunday and Monday at the 2016 California Community College Athletic Association State Women's Golf Championships. Tunstad finished in the top-third of all individuals competing, and shaved six strokes off her performance at Morro Bay Golf Course as a freshman at last year's State Championships.

Tunstad, stumbled a bit out of the gate, shooting an 87 and finishing the first day in 34th out of 57 competing golfers. The 87 was her highest round on that course in her last three rounds of competition there. On the second day, Tunstad rallied in a big way cutting eight total strokes of her previous days effort for a career best 79 in eight rounds at Morro Bay. The second day total the 13th lowest on the day, and put her in a three-way tie for 19th place overall for the tournament. Her two-day total of 166 was also six strokes better than last year's 172 that she posted at the same event.
