Kathryn Hung Drops An Ace At WSC Citrus Rounds

Kathryn Hung Drops An Ace At WSC Citrus Rounds

The Citrus College Women's Golf team played host to Western State Conference rivals Wednesday at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. Visiting the Fighting Owls were Santa Barbara City, Bakersfield, Antelope Valley, Glendale, Canyons and Moorpark. Entering Wednesday's rounds, Citrus sat at the 3rd place slot in conference, with individuals Shizuka Okochi and Kathryn Hung occupying the 14th and 15th spots, respectively.

Although Citrus didn't play its best round of the season, the team still managed to wrap up play in the 4th position, a respectable finish.

The top finisher of the day for Citrus was Kathryn Hung, who shot an 84. The highlight of the round for Hung was an ace on the 130 yard 16th, San Dimas Canyon's signature hole. Hung had been laser tracking the pins all day, as several other approach shots narrowly missed the mark, creating some built up drama for the par 3 16th, when the ball disappeared into the hole and ignited cheers from the gallery.

Citrus will hit the links again Monday when it travels to Bakersfield's Rio Bravo Country Club, in another WSC conference round.  Tee time is 11:00 AM.
