Oceguera, Barron Set to Compete at La Verne Together
Two Citrus College women's golfers will continue their collegiate careers as both Erika Oceguera and Alyssa Barron are headed to the University of La Verne together.
"I consider it an honor and a privilege to be able to continue my golf and educational career at the La Verne with my amazing teammate, Alyssa," said Oceguera. "We both have enjoyed and benefited from participating in a high-quality women's golf program at Citrus College that owes its success to the hard work and tireless efforts of Coach Trip. Playing on the women's golf team at Citrus College allowed me to grow as a golfer and as a student. Now that my journey at Citrus comes to an end, I am beyond grateful to be able to start a new chapter at the University of La Verne playing the sport I love."
Both Oceguera and Barron qualified for the SoCal Championship this past year after leading the Owls on the year. Oceguera finished 16th overall in conference with a 91.00 average, while Barron was right on her tail in 18th with a 96.67 average.
"Ever since Erika and I met, we clicked in an instant," added Barron. "Not only are we accomplishing our personal goals for the next two years, but we are doing so together. Nothing has changed but the address."
