Glendora, CA (Women's Soccer) -- For the second time in four games, the Owls put up seven goals on an opponent on Friday afternoon. Citrus scored three times in the first half and four more times in the second half as they totally handled visiting LA Valley College 7-0.

The Owls would take a season high 40 shots on Friday afternoon, five more than their previous best output. Sophomore Jasmine Williams scored the first two goals, put it past the goalie in the seventh and 22nd minutes to put the Owls up 2-0. Just before the half, freshman Sheyla Sanchez made it three goals in the first 45 minutes when she got her fourth of the year in the 36th minute. In the first half alone Citrus took 22 shots and four corners. Of the 22 shots 10 were on goal.

In the second half, Citrus kept it rolling. Freshman Leandra Escobar scored back to back goals in the 48th and 54th minutes. Freshman Jordyn Haynes notched her seventh of the year less than ten minutes later when she found the back of the net in the 62nd minute, and Williams finished off a hat trick in the 65th minute to give the Owls the seventh goal.

With the win, Citrus improves to 13-1-2 overall and 9-1 in Western State Conference Play. The Owls will get a tough test on Tuesday when it takes their show on the road to Bakersfield College. That match is set for a 4:00 PM start.
