Oxnard, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team picked up their first victory of the 2013 season on Sunday morning, and did so with a pair of goals both early and late. The Owls secured a 2-1 victory over College of the Sequoias, as they kept their record against the Giants unblemished over the past five years.

Freshman Kacie Licata continued to make her mark on the Owls' young season as she scored the game's first goal, giving Citrus a 1-0 lead in the 17th when she scored an unassisted goal. Citrus would hang on to that lead through halftime, but would let Sequoias get back into it with a goal in the 61st minute.

Luckily for the Citrus Licata and sophomore Sheyla Sanchez would hook up in the 70th minute to put the Owls back on top for good, it was the second goal of the year for Sanchez through Citrus' two contests. Sophomore Leslie Grande got the start in goal for the Owls on Sunday, recording five saves.

With the win, Citrus improves to 1-0-1 on the season. The Owls will be back out on the road on Thursday when they head South to take on San Diego Mesa College. The match is set for a 7:00 PM start.
