Sophomore Leslie Grande had a strong start in goal for the Owls, but ended up a hard luck loser in Citrus' 0-1 loss.

San Diego, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team dominated the second half of play against San Diego Mesa College on Thursday night but came up empty handed. The Owls outshot the Olympians, and had more corners, but ended up a 0-1 loser.

Citrus matched Mesa nearly punch for punch on Thursday. The Owls' lone set back would come midway through the first half when the Olympians snuck a goal past keeper Leslie Grande in the 22nd minute. That one small slip up though kept the Owls from recording any points.

In the second half, Citrus took three shots to San Diego Mesa's zero and earned four corners compared to just two for the Olympians. Alas despite more than doubling their opponents offensive chances, the Owls were never able to come up with a score, and instead suffered their first loss of the year.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 1-1-1 on the year. The Owls will try to regroup and get back on the winning side next Tuesday when they hit the road yet again to take on local rival Mt. San Antonio College. That match is set for a 5:00 PM start.
