Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team closed out their 2013 regular season on Friday afternoon in Citrus Stadium against West Los Angeles College. The Owls exploded for eight goals, which was more than enough in an 8-0 victory.

Freshman Kacie Licata got the ball rolling on Friday with her sixth goal of the season in the 13th minute of the contest. Her goal came courtesy of passes from sophomore's Sheyla Sanchez and Leandra Escobar. A little more than 10 minutes after that Escobar was doing some scoring of her own, off an assist from freshman Natalia Ponce.

Citrus got three more goals in that first half. Freshman Cindy Ramirez slotted one in the 24th minute with freshman Rebekah Evans and Ponce assisting. Shortly after that freshman Alessandra Perez-Negron scored her first goal of the year, with Evans assisting again. Ramirez scored again before the half was up, going upper left hand corner in the 29th minute, off a pass from Perez-Negron.

In the second half, Sanchez began her scoring spree. Sanchez scored 59th minute, as Ponce recorded her third assist. Sophomore Jordyn Haynes followed that up with her first of the year, using a pass from Sanchez in the 69th minute. Sanchez then scored the final goal of the match in the 87th minute, thanks to an assist from freshman Amber Mace.

With the win, Citrus closes out the regular season 12-5-4 and 10-2-2 in WSC South play. The Owls will now wait to see who they draw in the first round of the California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Playoffs. Those seedings will be announced on Tuesday.
