Licata Inks With Colorado State Pueblo

Glendora, CA -- Citrus College freshman women's soccer player, Kacie Licata signed a scholarship offer to continue her playing career recently. Licata will be headed to Colorado State University-Pueblo for the Fall 2014 season.

"I had previously attended school at CSU Pueblo, and it just didn't work out the first time," Licata said. "I got the opportunity to go back, and it feels like a good fit this time. I love the campus and the area, and it'll be a good place for me to finish my education."

Licata had an outstanding freshman campaign for the Owls in 2013. Licata led the team with 13 assists and added six goals for a second best 25 points for Citrus. Licata's 13 assists was a single season program record for the Owls, as she helped guide Citrus to its second straight playoff berth. Licata was a 1st team All-WSC South selection, and will have three years of eligibility remaining for the ThunderWolves.

"I had spent the last two years away from the game, so Citrus gave me a chance to get back on my feet on the field," Licata said. "It helped me regain my confidence in my abilities, and set me up for success in the future."

"Kacie was a huge part of our success this past season," said Citrus College Head Women's Soccer Coach Tim Tracey. "She is an incredible athlete, and she will be missed. We are excited to watch her as she continues on her journey."
