Glendora, CA — For the second straight game, the Citrus College Women's Soccer program ended up on the wrong side of things. After suffering their first loss of the year on Wednesday, Citrus fell again on Friday afternoon 2-1 to visiting Mt. San Antonio College.

The first half would be tightly contested. Mt. San Antonio controlled the tempo for much of the first half, but the Owls didn't go without their chances. Unfortunately for Citrus, it was the Mounties who struck first, as they scored on a rebound in the 24th minute. The Owls would keep Mt. SAC off the scoreboard over the next 35 minutes until the Mounties countered after an offside call on the Owls in the 59th minute to go up 2-0.

For the next 15 minutes, the Owls seemed listless, but finally in the final 15 minutes began to show signs of life. Citrus would push the tempo, and even earned a free kick near the top of the box in the 82nd minute. Sophomore Cindy Ramirez took the ball and fired it to the left post. The ball hit the post and ricocheted into the right corner of the net, cutting the Mounties lead in half. Citrus would come up with at least three more chances, but to Mt. SAC's credit, keeper Brianna Rice, made some big saves down the stretch.

With the loss, Citrus moves to 2-2 on the year. The Owls' road doesn't get any easier, as they will travel to San Bernardino Valley College on Tuesday for a 4:00 PM showdown.
