San Bernardino, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team found themselves in uncharted waters on Tuesday evening after their 3-1 loss to host San Bernardino Valley College. It was the Owls' third straight loss, the first time they've experienced a stretch like that since 2011, and it also moved the Owls under .500, its first such venture this late in the year into that territory since the 2009 season.

Things started off well enough for the Owls on Tuesday. Citrus scored first on the day, when sophomore Jessie Gener knocked one in off a free kick in the 35th minute. Things turned around quickly after that though. The Wolverines answered four minutes later in the 39th minute with a goal that made it 1-1 just before the break.

In the second half, San Bernardino took the lead in the 68th minute and then put the game away for good less than ten minutes later with their third goal in the 77th minute. It was a tale of two wildly different halves for the Owls. Citrus outshot San Bernardino 9-2 in the first 45 minutes, but had things turned around on them in the second being outshot 11-3.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 2-3 on the year. The Owls will take a break from competition for a week and a half before returning to the pitch at home a week from Friday when they host San Diego Mesa College. First touch is set for 3:00 PM.
