Owls Win Big Over Visiting Glendale

Glendora, CA -- Fresh off a 4-1 victory over visiting West Los Angeles College, the Citrus College Women's Soccer kept it going on Friday afternoon with a 5-0 win over visiting Glendale College. The Owls outshot the Vaqueros 30-0 and earned 14 corner kicks to Glendale's 0.

Citrus' first goal of the day would come less than eight minutes in, when sophomore Rebekah Evans took a feed from sophomore Cindy Ramirez to make it 1-0. The Owls would score again in the 28th minute when Ramirez scored on her own off passes from freshmen Berlyn Pedroza and Katheryne Gomez to make it 2-0.

In the second half, the Owls put the game away for good with three goals in a span of a little over three minutes. Sophomore Alyssa Dunn struck first heading in a ball off a corner from Ramirez in the 53rd minute. A little less than two minutes later, Ramirez was scoring again this time off an assist from Evans. A minute later, the two switched roles as a corner kick from Ramirez found the head of Evans who made it 5-0.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-4 overall and 2-0 in WSC South play. The Owls will hit the road next week for two games, beginning on Tuesday against Santa Monica College at 3:00 PM.
