Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team continued their strong roll on Tuesday afternoon when they played host to Bakersfield College. The Owls scored twice in the first 15 minutes and never looked back en route to a 4-1 win over the visiting Renegades.

Once again it was sophomore Cindy Ramirez who inflicted the most damage. Ramirez headed home the game's first goal, taking a perfect pass from sophomore Rebekah Evans in the box and pushing it past the Bakersfield keeper to make it 1-0 in the 7th minute. Eight minutes later, Ramirez was putting Citrus on the board again, this time off a pass from Zariah Silva to make it 2-0.

Citrus would score once more before the half, when sophomore Amber Mace took a pass from Ramirez and placed it perfectly to make it 3-0 in the 33rd minute. Bakersfield would try to claw their way back into the game in the second half, cutting the Owls' lead down to two with a score in the 64th minute. The Owls never panicked though, and kept up their tempo, closing the game out with an unassisted goal from sophomore Natalia Ponce in the 83rd minute.

With the win, Citrus improves to 7-5 overall and 4-1 in WSC South play. Citrus will be at home again on Friday when they host Antelope Valley College at 2:00 PM.
