Valley Glen, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Cindy Ramirez put on a show on Friday afternoon when the Citrus College Women's Soccer team hit the road to take on LA Valley College. The sophomore midfielder scored a hat trick, her second of her career, as the Owls defeated the host Monarchs 3-0.
Ramirez got the ball rolling late in the first half when she took a pass from freshman Katheryne Gomez and made it 1-0 in the 44th minute. Ramirez would strike twice more in the second half, both nearly back to back, scoring off an assist from freshman Taylor Lewis in the 60th minute and then scoring an unassisted goal in the 68th minute. Citrus outshot the Monarchs 25-5, but did take one fewer corner kick 4-5.
With the win, Citrus improves to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back at home on Tuesday when they host Bakersfield College at 2:00 PM.
