Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Soccer team didn't play their best on Friday afternoon in Citrus College Stadium, but did get two for their home crowd. The Owls won a bit ugly, defeating visiting Antelope Valley College 2-0.

The Marauders come into Friday's contest ready to play, and took it to the Owls early on. After giving up a few good looks early on, Citrus regained its composure and got on the board in the 28th minute when freshman Brittney Perez took a near perfect pass from sophomore Cindy Ramirez and flicked it past the keeper to make it 1-0.

After a lackluster start early in the first half, Citrus really picked up their pace in second half outshooting Antelope Valley 11-1. Of those 11, four were framed on goal, including Ramirez's 11th goal of the year in the 68th minute, with freshman Alyssa Selio assisting.

With the win, Citrus improves to 8-5 overall and 5-1 in WSC South play. The Owls will have one of their most difficult tests of the season on Tuesday when they travel to Santa Clarita to take on College of the Canyons at 2:00 PM.
