San Diego, CA -- Citrus sophomore Alyssa Selio came up huge for the Owls on Tuesday evening at San Diego Mesa College. With Citrus in a 2-1 hole, Selio scored with two seconds left on the game clock to pull the Owls back even with the Olympians as Citrus went on to tie Mesa 2-2.

The evening was a back and forth affair with both teams showing signs of offensive fire power throughout. The Owls rattled off 17 shots in total on the night, nine in the first half and eight in the second while Mesa gave Citrus an equally rough time.

Citrus would take the first lead of the game when freshman Nicole Graham scored her second of the season with just a few minutes remaining in the first half. Citrus lead would only last for about 17 minutes as the Olympians pulled even in the 60th minute. Not too long thereafter, Mesa put the Owls in the hole with a score in the 66th minute. Selio would come along and save the day though, scoring in the 89th minute to give Citrus their first tie of the year.

With the tie, Citrus moves to 2-3-1 on the season. The Owls will take the weekend off before starting Western State Conference South Division action on Tuesday when they host College of the Canyons at 4:00 PM.
