Culver City, CA -- After opening up WSC South play on Tuesday with a disappointing 3-1 home loss to College of the Canyons, the Citrus College Women's Soccer program turned around and rallied on Friday afternoon for their first conference win of the season, a 2-0 victory at West Los Angeles College.

It took a little while for the Owls to find the back of the net, but once they did, all was good. Sophomore Savanna Lujan got her second career goal and first of the year, when she put one past the keeper in the 36th minute. Sophomore Ariana Reyes added to the lead in the second half with a strike in the 53rd minute that put the game at the final margin of 2-0. In the win, freshman keeper Crystal Valadez was solid, posting a shutout with five saves.

With the win, Citrus improves to 3-4-1 overall and 1-1 in WSC South play. The Owls will try and keep things headed in the right direction this Tuesday when they travel to Glendale College for a  7:00 PM meeting with the Vaqueros.
